Our Story
Hi, my name is Jasmine Scott, the founder of 914 PLAYS and I’m so happy you’re here!
914 PLAYS was created from my deep passion for early childhood development and my belief in the power of play. I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher and hold a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education. I stepped away from classroom teaching because I realized just how many critical, foundational skills are built before age five. From language and motor development to social-emotional growth and early problem-solving, these early years lay the groundwork for everything that follows. I wanted to be part of that beginning, where curiosity is blooming, confidence is growing, and the smallest moments make the biggest impact.
For the past 10 years, I’ve worked as a Developmental Evaluator in New York’s Early Intervention Program, partnering with families to support children from birth to age three as they reach critical milestones. Through this work, I’ve seen how sensory-rich experiences can spark growth, build confidence, and bring so much joy to toddlers and their caregivers. I wanted to create a warm, welcoming space where little ones could explore, learn, and thrive through purposeful play — and where families could feel supported every step of the way.
Located in Peekskill, NY, 914 PLAYS offers thoughtfully designed sensory and enrichment classes that engage all areas of development for children ages 1-5. Whether your toddler is diving into their first group experience or you’re looking for a meaningful weekly activity, our classes are all about celebrating curiosity, connection, and childhood. We’re more than just a class, we’re a community. And we’d love to welcome you and your little one to play, grow, and make memories with us!
My “WHY”
As a mom, educator, and someone who knows how much it means to find your village, I started 914 PLAYS not just to offer amazing play-based programs for little ones, but because I was also searching for something more: community. As a mom in Northern Westchester, always looking for activities to do with my son, I craved a space where both children and caregivers could feel seen, supported, and inspired through meaningful connection, creativity, and play.
With my background in early childhood education and my heart firmly rooted in motherhood, I created 914 PLAYS as a place where families can come together, grow together, and make lasting memories in the early years.
Because every caregiver deserves support and connection, and every child deserves enriching experiences that inspire curiosity.
